I’m sure by now many of you have already heard about the Love Donna Flora! event coming soon from July 25th – August 11th. But if you haven’t, I would love to take this opportunity to share with you what it’s purpose is and what it means to me to participate. The purpose of this event is to help a beloved member of the SL community, Ms. Squinternet Larnia, creator of the store Donna Flora that has for years blessed our SL lives with the most beautiful and well-designed vintagewear on the grid. In late 2011, Ms. Larnia discovered she had breast cancer that had already metasized to her bones. It has been a tremendous battle for her over the years to defy the odds and continue to seek out new treatments, therefore her ability to keep creating has been diminished and her store that we love so dearly is barely able to make tier. I have never had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Larnia myself but I know her brand well. It has been on my radar since nearly the start of my SL experience 5 years ago and remains a go-to place for all things vintage inspired, particularly for me, her exquisite jewelry collections. Her eye for detail and textures in keeping with the eras she is designing for are unmatched. It would be a shame to me to see her amazing work fall away and disappear. But more importantly this is an opportunity to support a woman that has given so much beauty to Second Life. What I love about this event is not just the fundraising and financial help we can provide her through the generosity of many other wonderful designers, but also how quickly the community rallied and wanted to offer Ms. Larnia messages of hope and love. This is the first post of a few I will be doing in the coming weeks to promote this heartfelt event. To read more about the event and designers participating as well as to read the posts and well-wishes from fellow Donna Flora lovers or to leave one of your own, see the Love Donna Flora! blog.
Since this is my debut post on the event, I am showing off the Pose Prop “Premiere” from oOo Studio, available at the Love Donna Flora! event with 100% of the proceeds being donated. The red carpet backdrop allows you to add your own custom texture or logos, while glamming it up with 8 female, 7 male, and 3 couples poses.
